Aiyon Abogados is a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, where one of the partners holds a BA in Seamanship and Maritime Transportation, and all of them have extensive experience in legal services and in direct handling of cases with clients. Madrid

Verónica Meana

Verónica holds a Law Degree and a Masters Degree (LLM) from the University of Texas.

She specializes in all matters relating to maritime law, insurance law and recovery actions with special attention to issues subject to arbitration/mediation, cruise ship compensation claims, recreational marine industry and yacht incidents, along with all the rest of maritime accidents.

Cádiz

Enrique Ortiz

Enrique holds a Law Degree and a Masters Degree in Maritime Law and Shipping Business (ICADE).

He specializes in diverse aspects of insurance law, as well as in land and multimodal transport, and international trade. Enrique holds reputable experience in analysis of maritime insurance policies, land transport claims, international sales contract and distribution, apart from being an excellent negotiator.

Pablo Sánchez

Pablo holds a Law Degree and a Masters Degree in Access to the Legal Profession from the University of Cadiz. He holds a Masters Degree in Port Companies Management and Maritime Law from the University of Deusto. He also has first-hand knowledge and experience in the freight forwarding sector.

In September 2022 he joined AIYON Abogados in its Cadiz office, where he is developing his professional activity in the different areas of maritime law, as well as inland transport, commerce and insurance.

Bilbao

Mikel Garteiz-goxeaskoa

Mikel holds a Law Degree and a Masters Degree in Maritime Law (LLM) from the University of Southampton.

He specializes in different aspects of maritime, insurance and international trade law. We must stress his outstanding experience in matters related to marine pollution, ship and cargo arrest, sanctioning proceedings, ship purchasing, piracy, advising on insurance policies and handling all kind of claims.

Zuberoa Elorriaga

Zuberoa holds a Law Degree and a Masters Degree from the “Escuela de Práctica Jurídica” (ICAV).

She specializes in different aspects of land and multimodal transport as well as in maritime and aviation law with particular attention to transport under CMR-CIM contracts, cargo and passenger claims in land and air transport. She also handles sanctioning proceeding cases, incidents with stowaways and insurance and P&I recovery claims.

Irantzu Sedano

Irantzu holds a Law Degree from the University of the Basque Country and a Masters Degree in Port Companies Management and Maritime Law from the University of Deusto. Furthermore, she also holds a Masters Degree in Logistics and International Trade from EUDE Business School and a Masters Degree in Financial Consultancy from the University of Deusto.

In October 2019 she joined AIYON Abogados in its Bilbao office where she is being trained developing so her professional activity in the diverse areas of maritime law, land transport and commerce. She specializes in handling of insurance claims handling, revision of insurance policies and recovery claims.

Algeciras

José Antonio Domínguez

José holds a Law Degree, Masters Degree in Maritime Law from the University of Deusto, Masters Degree in Maritime Law from the University of Oslo and Master Mariner.

He is a lawyer and a mariner specialized in all areas of maritime, insurance and international trade law, especially those related to advising on any kind of charter party, navigation accidents, and registration of vessels, incidents with stowaways, sanctioning proceedings and claims management for P&Is.

Rocío López

Rocío holds a Degree in Labour Relations and Human Resources from the University of Seville (2016) and a Degree in Law from the University of Cadiz (2020). She also holds a Masters Degree in Maritime-Port Company Management and Maritime Law from the University of Deusto (2020) and a Masters Degree in Access to the Legal Profession from UNIR (2022).

In June 2022 Rocío successfully passed the final exam of the Masters Degree in Access for the Legal Profession.
