{"id":12977,"date":"2026-05-12T08:35:30","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T08:35:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aiyon.es\/1st-conference-on-maritime-law-elsa-upv-ehu\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T08:36:51","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T08:36:51","slug":"1st-conference-on-maritime-law-elsa-upv-ehu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aiyon.es\/en\/1st-conference-on-maritime-law-elsa-upv-ehu\/","title":{"rendered":"1st Conference on Maritime Law \u2013 ELSA UPV\/EHU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We at AIYON Abogados are delighted to share news of our participation in the \u201c1st Maritime Law Conference\u201d organised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euskadi.eus\/gobierno-vasco\/-\/asociacion\/asociacion-estudiantes-europeos-derecho-universidad-del-pais-vascoeuskal-herriko-unibertsitatea-elsa-upvehu\/asb247052023\/\"><strong>ELSA UPV\/EHU<\/strong><\/a><em>, <\/em>held on 5 and 6 May at the Naval Command in Bilbao and at the Sociedad Bilba\u00edna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our partner <a href=\"https:\/\/aiyon.es\/en\/our-team\/mikel-garteiz-goxeaskoa\/\"><strong>Mikel Garteiz-goxeaskoa<\/strong><\/a> had the privilege of speaking as a panellist in the \u201cMerchant Navy\u201d session, addressing the basic rules of maritime safety, compliance monitoring by the authorities, and the penalty system. We hope that his presentation proved useful to those in attendance, particularly for those taking their first steps in the fascinating world of <a href=\"https:\/\/aiyon.es\/en\/areas-of-practice\/maritime-law\/\"><strong>Maritime Law<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference covered topics such as security, the merchant navy, underwater cultural heritage, and so on. As Laura Almod\u00f3var noted at the close of the event, maritime law is not an abstract concept but something that <em>\u201cpermeates\u201d <\/em>reality, and specifically the day-to-day operations of the maritime and port sector and international trade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our heartfelt thanks go to the organisers for this initiative and for the trust placed in us by Laura Almod\u00f3var Cobo and Joritz Garc\u00eda P\u00e9rez, president and vice-president of ELSA UPV\/EHU, as well as to their team, to whom we offer our sincerest congratulations for their hard work and dedication, which have produced this magnificent result.
