Aiyon Abogados LLP, a specialized law firm in Shipping Law, Transport Law, Insurance Law and International Commerce Law, has opened a new office in Algeciras which is added to the offices opened in Madrid, Cadiz and Bilbao.
This new office will be managed by the partner Jose Dominguez, who holds a Law degree from the University of Deusto and a LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Oslo/Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law. He also holds a BA in Seamanship and Maritime Transportation from the University of the Basque Country and a Decree in Civil Navigation from the University of La Laguna, having navigated as a deck officer for Fred Olsen SA and Acciona Transmediterranea shipping companies.
As a Maritime Lawyer he is specialized matters related to charter parties and bill of lading; logistic contracts to import/export companies; land and multimodal carriage of goods; registration of yachts and vessels; yachting; ship and off-shore building contracts; shipping sanctioning proceedings (pollution, Paris MoU, stowaways); recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitration awards or arrest of seagoing vessels; cargo liens and their effect to freight forwarders, NVOCC; amongst others.
