Enrique Ortiz
Enrique holds a Law Degree, specialized in Private Law from the Hispalense University of Seville and a Masters Degree in Law & Maritime Business from the Spanish Maritime Institute (IME COMILLAS/ICADE, 2003). Additionally, Enrique is a judicial expert, member of ASEPJIME.
Enrique started in the maritime sector in 1998 while working for a P&I Club correspondent in Spain and, later on, he specialized in maritime and insurance law in London during his traineeship at Britannia P&I Club, Steamship Insurance Management Services Ltd, as well as in the Law firms More Fisher Brown (currently M-F-B) and in Dipp Lupton Alsop (DLA) in Madrid. He worked for Fernando Meana Green & Co. from 2004 to 2015, when he joined AIYON Abogados as a partner.
Due to his strategic location in the Port of Cádiz and the proximity to Strait of Gibraltar and the Port of Algeciras with a constant maritime traffic, Enrique has intervened in matters of great importance in the maritime sector providing his professional services and knowledge in collisions, cruise ship transportation claims, salvage and pollution cases, international sales and agency contracts, as well as advising local and foreign clients on judicial and extrajudicial disputes, both on national and international jurisdiction, on cases related to damages to cargo and/or passengers in maritime and land transport.
Enrique has handled numerous sanctioning proceedings initiated by the Spanish Maritime Authorities, being considered an expert negotiator.
